In June 2005 Gippsland Ports issued its Long Term Management Plan for Dredging Lakes Entrance (LTMP) Version 1. The LTMP was used to assist Gippsland Ports in obtaining a long-term dredging permit for the disposal of material at sea under the Commonwealth Environment Protection (Sea Dumping) Act 1981. This permit was obtained in September 2005. The LTMP Version 1 signaled an annual revision process. This document, the LTMP Version 2, supersedes the LTMP Version 1 to provide an updated account of Gippsland Ports’ past and present operations and future plans for dredging at Lakes Entrance.

While there is some overlap in some areas of information presented in Version 2 compared with Version 1 of the LTMP, of necessity there is not one-to-one correspondence in Sections and headings between the two documents and there have been some significant changes made to reflect current knowledge and plans.
